How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +23
Symptoms? Back aches, sciatic nerve pain (if I’ve been sitting for awhile), minor acid reflux on occasion, cramps, swollen feet
Sleep: Getting tougher to actually fall asleep, but I sleep pretty well once I’m out! My mind is in so many places, that may be why I am having trouble getting to sleep.
Best moment this week: Lots of great moments this week! On Saturday, Drew’s co-workers threw him a man-shower, which was great, because I had not met some of them yet! And little girl received her very first piece of Kentucky gear! Wednesday night, we got to see our very good friends, Brian and Jenni, before they move to Philadelphia in a week. Some great opportunities for them, and although lots of change, lots of GOOD change! We will certainly miss them a ton!
Miss Anything? My old clothes. I am to the point where even some of my maternity clothing is getting too small. (lots of under-belly showing in a lot of my tops!) I keep finding myself on Drew’s side of the closet, looking for things I could “make work” for the next 3-4 weeks. I guess I’ve just accepted that I’ll now be living in leggings, maxi dresses, and very LARGE t-shirts until go-time!
Movement: Tons of movement! Starting to really feel fingers, toes, elbows, and that head of hers resting right on my bladder! Agh!
Food cravings: Just hungry a lot! Still trying to be conscious of how much I’m eating, because I really do feel like I could eat a house sometimes.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week!
Gender prediction: Bows! I think we can safely say we can take this one off the list!
Labor Signs: A little crampy sometimes, and what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions! Kind of feels like your stomach gets really tight and hard all of a sudden. It doesn’t really hurt, just becomes uncomfortable.
Belly Button in or out? Still flat as a pancake!
Wedding rings on or off? Off……sometimes I will look down and think I have lost it somewhere. Can’t wait to put them back on!
Mood: Anxious! Things are finally all coming together and I finally feel as prepared as I can be! At first, I was really dreading and almost scared to give birth, but now I’m feeling ready and excited! I think being pregnant for 9 months is the perfect amount of time to go through the initial shock, the planning, the prepping, and just getting your mind right, so when it is time, you are ready to go!
Weekly Wisdom: Women’s bodies are really amazing……how within 9 months, you go from having this tiny “seed”, to growing an 8 pound human being! Yes, your body changes, some for the good, some for the bad. But at the end of all of it, you have a baby! A baby YOUR body held and grew for 9 months! It really is amazing to think that one day, we will be doing our regular routine and then within the next, we will be holding our new baby girl….something that took 9 months to make, and only 1 day to bring into the world!
Looking forward to: Our 36 week appointment tomorrow. Will be doing my Strep B test and will hopefully be checked to see how I’m progressing! We have a check-up every week from here on out! We will also be preparing our hospital bag this weekend along with any last minute house projects we need to get done. It’s on!!
