This past Friday, Madam and Katie came into town to visit, baby shop, and just hang out for the weekend. A trip to Atlanta can never be without a trip to Taco Mac, where we ended up on Friday night for dinner. Saturday was baby girl shopping extravaganza! We headed out pretty early to meet Dan and Heath for lunch at the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub in Milton, then shopped around the North Point Mall area….checking out Buy Buy Baby (madhouse), Babies R Us, Gymboree, Gap Kids, and Pottery Barn Kids (love love love). After a good 3 hours worth of shopping, we made out with some good loot! Here are my favorites:

Baby Girl Shopping Extravaganza

1. We found our crib, made by Babi Italia, and a set of crib sheets for baby girl!
2. A polkadot heart onesie with heart patches on the elbows. Can’t get any cuter than this!
3. Little zebra pajamas with zebra booties. And one of my two favorite patterns….stripes!
4. What’s my other favorite pattern you say? Polka dots of course.
5. The Boon Grass counter drying rack! A place to dry pacifiers, bottles, and all other baby accessories!
6. Every baby needs a pack of white Carter’s onesies.
7. My new obsession….baby leggings. Katie, with her keen eyesight, spotted the bin of leggings marked down 50% off!

The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxed. Consisted of a lot of lounging and pajama wearing. If you didn’t know already, Andrew and I are Game of Thrones fanatics and have probably watched the first two seasons a good three or four times before the premier of the third season. Katie had NEVER seen it before, so we thought this weekend was a perfect opportunity to get her hooked! And boy did she……she got about halfway through season 2 before she left! Ha! I really could not have asked for a better visit! Now on to plan the next one!

22 Weeks
How far along? 22 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +7.6
Symptoms? My nails are growing long and strong! And boy do I have an appetite……I’m constantly hungry.
Sleep: Still having VERY vivid dreams and only waking up once or twice throughout the night. Having more nights off from teaching, I’ve been getting to bed a lot earlier and have been getting plenty of sleep, which is always a good thing!
Best moment this week: Having my mom and sister in town this past weekend. We had a BLAST!
Miss Anything? Having my mom and sister in town has definitely made me miss my family more.
Movement: Found out yesterday at my 22 week check-up that little girl is in the breech position, which is why I have been feeling kicks in my lower belly. A lot of the times using my bladder as a trampoline! It’s normal for baby to move around and switch positions right up until the end, where we HOPE (fingers crossed) she will turn head down!
Food cravings: Almost a whole week with no mexican food! I will have to fix this ASAP!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing making me sick really. I got pretty lightheaded at the mall this weekend, partly from walking around a lot more than I am used to, and it being so damn crowded!
Have you started to show yet: I think this is a given…..
Gender prediction: Bows!
Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button in or out? In but getting more shallow. Especially when I’m lying down.
Wedding rings on or off? On for now! Dreading when I might have to take them off.
Mood: Feeling accomplished! Got a lot done this past week and a few things crossed off my checklist!
Weekly Wisdom: “Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A ‘you can do it’ when things are tough.” – Richard M. DeVos   Keeping this in mind, with only a few more months left of what is familiar.
Looking forward to: uhm, one of my favorite holidays all year! An excuse to eat chips and salsa, tacos, burritos, drink margaritas water…..Cinco de Mayo! And let’s not forget the Kentucky Derby this weekend as well! Someone drink a mint julep for me!
