We have officially started Ellen on some solids this weekend! I’ve been pretty stressed about starting for a good two or three weeks, and of course, did my research on how much, what times, what types, etc. Some say to start with veggies first. Some say fruit. Some say rice, some say oatmeal. And THEN, there is the whole subject of buying pre-made vs. making your own food….and do you bother with buying organic? Oy.
We did decide to start with a little rice cereal. Ellen has always had a bit of a sensitive tummy as it is, so we thought it might be a little easier on her to start with. We also added just a bit of homemade applesauce to help with the taste.
For now, I think I’m going to attempt to keep up with making her food. You know…the more simple things. Sweet Potato, carrots, pears, peas, squash, etc. It is really so simple……I just have to make the time! Depending on how that goes, I may go into more detail later.
